Jean-François Larrieu is a French painter born on February 28, in Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées). At the age of 11, Jean-François Larrieu entered the François Villon painting academy.

A year later, in , he received the François Villon painting prize, he was awarded the Musée Béarnais painting prize by the city of Pau, where he had his first museum exhibition, he moved to Paris to pursue his career, while at the same time committing himself to the artistic cause.

In , he co-founded the Comité de Défense des Artistes du Grand Palais to support independent artists' associations.1 His work has graced the walls of several salons and group exhibitions, including the Salon Figuration Critique and the Salon Comparaisons, where in he was the founder of the group Écritures Exubérantes.
